Regarded as one of the regions finest naturalists, Denis’s knowledge of the calls and habitats of Malaysian birds and where to find them is unequalled. His bird whistling skills are legendary and his sense of humor is a great asset!
Dennis Yong has been involved in the fauna and flora of Malaysia and their conservation since leaving school. He has spent many years doing field work on mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and plants while with the University of Malaya and for WWF Malaysia. He started leading birding tours in 1974 and has over the years gained a reputation as the finest field naturalist in Malaysia. Dennis is a life member of the Malaysian Nature Society and was a past country representative for the International Council for Bird Preservation and the Oriental Bird Club.
