Despite the challenges that 2021 has thrown up we are extremely grateful for the field opportunities we have had this year. Many of our leaders have been able to enjoy some exciting times back on tour, and their top sightings during 2021 bare testament to this. An incredible variety of special species have been seen over the past few months from the magnificent Shoebill in Uganda’s extensive papyrus swamps to the little known Long-whiskered Owlet in Northern Peru. Our top sightings also include a few extremely rare species from Ghana such as Yellow-footed Honeyguide and the amazing rediscovery, with a photograph, of the mythical Shelley’s Eagle-Owl!!!.

Finally, thank you for all of your dedicated support throughout the year. At Rockjumper we are excited for what 2022 holds, especially as the travel industry continues to rebound, and we wish you all the very best for the New Year.
