Sub-Saharan Africa offers an incredible diversity of environments and with it, birds and wildlife. We have a number of exciting African tours coming up in the next few months that include the likes of Namibia, Okavango & Victoria Falls, Ethiopia, our ever popular Eastern South Africa offerings and our Cape to Kruger tours, where you stand excellent chances of viewing this roller. Interestingly Ethiopia offers the opportunity of viewing a unique subspecies of Lilac-breasted Roller, C. c. lorti, which is occasionally split off as a separate species – Blue-breasted Roller. Other fabulous families that you will bump into on these tours include different varieties of bushshrikes, mousebirds, owls, woodpeckers, turacos, parrots, sunbirds and bustards while on the South Africa trips, two unique families to the country in the form of sugarbirds and of course rockjumpers can be found.
