Rich and David are very different personalities and from a client’s perspective, they were a dream team. Rich has unusual leadership ability (he was the main guide), he was unselfish, always put clients first and had patience even with the slowest – a good communicator and very good at getting people on the birds.

I was thrilled when Forrest Rowland agreed to run another Colombia Mega, as I really wanted to join a tour led by him – he has such extensive experience of this country and its birds. Even with that expectation, the trip exceeded my wildest dreams. Forrest’s grasp of Colombia’s birds, herps, plants, geography and history sets the scene for a magnificent experience. His humour and personality ensure one enjoys every minute.

Erik Forsyth did a good job of rearranging times and/or dates for two of the pelagics, which were ultimately successful–even given substantial rain and wind.

As a guide myself for more than 10 years (starting back in the early 90s), I believe I can give a sincere and realistic review of Greg de Klerk’s performance during our nearly 2 weeks in Eastern South Africa. With this in mind, I can say that Greg did an excellent of maintaining and overseeing all aspects of our trip from start to finish. I particularly felt that his capacity for maintaining the various and sometimes complex logistics was impressive and well above average. Whether it was making sure that everyone’s accommodations were comfortable, or helping us find a restroom during one challenging afternoon, when the restaurant we were eating in randomly closed their bathrooms down, Greg was always “on top of his game.” This is not to mention his excellent abilities in the field as well. As a professional wildlife biologist, I was very impressed with Greg’s abilities “beyond ” just identifying species, so to speak. ln other words, Greg gave impressive, in-depth natural history descriptions of nearly every species of wildlife we recorded.

Adam, “You are simply the best” and really showed me how one should bird and how to go about it. Our early morning walks in the forest gave me the impression that I was in the worlds finest concert hall with the greatest musicians rendering their best songs. I was humbled by this experience and will never forget it…
