This magnificent photo, of a Crowned Eagle and its Ververt Monkey prey, was captured one recent afternoon by Hugh Chittenden in the fabled Dlinza Forest in South Africa. Hugh and his wife Loueen, are great friends of the Rockjumper family and many of our South Africa tours spend a memorable evening at their comfortable Bed and Breakfast, a mere 10 minutes drive from this forest! This spectacular raptor, Africa's answer to the Harpy Eagle, and one of the most sought after birds of prey on the African continent, recently fledged a chick that many of our lucky guests were priviledged to see!
