8 with 1 Rockjumper leader
Demanding & tiring. Designed for the dedicated lister & serious birder. Not suitable for inexperienced travellers, dedicated or avid photographers; inexperienced birders; or anyone with mobility or health challenges.
Comfortable in main cities/towns, basic elsewhere.
Moderate to difficult. Many low-density targets that may require repeat attempts.
Good in the more open northern extension
Good trip to a not regularly traveled country. Sometimes it was improvising, but the tour leader and ground agent solved everything well. Excellent guiding and saw a lot of the target birds well. Also beforehand everything was well arranged and communicated by the office team.
My answers do not reflect the quality of Rockjumpers, which was superb. I just did not like the deplorable conditions of the country. It was a very rugged trip, as advertised. We did see a lot of birds, many rare and endangered. David was incredibly brilliant and helpful all the way. The country not so much. I have too many comments to list now.
An excellent tour. David was a great guide and not only found all the difficult species but also navigated us through the Cameroonian logistical difficulties (along with the wonderful fixer, Jean-Pierre) that were frequently encountered.
