Ghana is a West African destination like no other: it is a politically stable, English-speaking nation that is acknowledged as the friendliest country in the region. It is also one of the safest countries in which the Upper Guinea forest block, an internationally recognised Endemic Bird Area, can be accessed, and our birding tour of Ghana allows for a thorough exploration of the most exciting West African birding habitats. From Guinea savanna to lush rainforest, we will see much of what Ghana has to offer, promising a truly impressive bird tally and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Our days in this wonderful country will be spent ambling forested trails, scanning for canopy species from a fabulous walkway, and exploring vast tracts of deciduous woodland. Typical African families such as turacos, barbets, sunbirds and greenbuls are particularly well represented, yielding a colourful and interesting bounty of species. Furthermore, we also have the opportunity to see one of Africa’s most highly sought-after birds – the fabled White-necked Rockfowl!

Andre was excellent ....laid back , loved sharing his knowledge of the country ,encouraged us to try local foods , and his knowledge of the birds in Ghana was amazing . Because of him the trip was a huge success ...
Excellent tour! The local leader James is a gem - he is a genuinely nice person and very organized. He made the tour by knowing the location of the species we wanted to see and he is amazing at hearing and finding birds. We wouldn't have been as successful without him. Also a great idea to order meals ahead of time really saved time.
Andre was an excellent guide, working very well with the local guides.
The tour was well planned and well paced. The Tour Leader Stephan and Local Guide were both excellent, and worked well as a team. Indeed they were the icing on the cake as to making the tour so good.
Excellent organisation throughout tour. Both David and James were excellent having superb hearing and eyesight and putting me onto birds. They were both very quick to put birds in the telescopes. Food surprisingly good throughout and hotels also good, although the Erata seemed poorer than most to me. The last hotel had very poor wi-fi connection and it may have been a benefit to have a toggle with a local working phone in order to confirm and check in for the flight the next day. Other than this the birding experience was great and the group were very good fun - thank you to David, James, Wesa and the driver Rafa and all my fellow travellers for a great holiday.
