Overview

Ranking fifth in biodiversity among the world’s islands, our 6 day Jamaica birding tour provides the perfect opportunity to encounter all 28 of the island’s endemic bird species plus other Caribbean specialties. This we will do by thoroughly exploring the island’s great variety of habitats, from the evergreen forests of the Blue Mountains to the ultramarine waters of the coast. Just a few of the highlight birds include Jamaican Owl, Jamaican Mango, Jamaican Becard, Jamaican Tody, Crested Quail-Dove and Red-billed Streamertail. Accommodations is very comfortable, we stay at one lodge for the whole tour which has good garden birding and superb Jamaican cuisine.

Carlos Sanchez and the organization of the trip itself was excellent

Carlos Sanchez is a great guide, an excellent birder who knows the area well. He is friendly and interesting, and we enjoyed our non-birding conversations with him. We would be very happy to travel with him again.

Rockjumper and our guide, Forrest, put on an exceptional trip to Jamaica. All endemics spotted, great company, and great lodgings. Highly recommend this trip if anyone is looking for a relaxing week-long birding vacation.

Our Rockjumper guide for all three tours, Adam Walleyn, was an excellent birder and attentive to all participants. We have travelled with Adam previously and continue to enjoy his expertise and passion for nature. Adam's leadership was a major factor in our booking the three tours.

Our Rockjumper guide, Adam Walleyn, was excellent. A strong birder and patient man, he worked hard to make sure that all participants saw and photographed the birds well. Adam was able to engage positively with a diverse and intense group. I liked him very much.
