Our eastern South Africa birding and wildlife tours combine the great birds and mammals of the world-renowned Kruger National Park, the teeming Zululand game reserves, the endemic-rich mist-belt forests and grasslands of the Natal Midlands and the lofty peaks of the magnificent Drakensberg. Hi. Glen and Julian were great guides. I really enjoyed spending time with them. The trip was great, lodging was great. The wineries were amazing, as were the bird and animal sightings. I would travel with Glen or Julian again any time!
Andre Bernon was excellent at sharing his expertise and assisting even the most novice birder (me). We couldn't have asked for a better professional. And he was so personable, considerate and had a great sense of humor.
Gareth Robbins was an excellent guide. He was friendly and approachable, made all the group feel welcome and his sense of humour kept us all amused. His ability to find birds is second to none and he took great pains to ensure everyone had seen every bird. I would love to travel with him again.
Our trip leader Doug was fantastic. He is clearly an expert birder with an admirable academic background. Doug also took an interest in the enjoyment and comfort of each guest. He frequently went above and beyond and always cheerfully went about loading and unloading all our luggage at our many locations, assisting all of us in many ways. The group was, on average, senior citizen age and he was very patient and helpful. He got us up first thing in the morning and spent the entire day diligently searching out the birds for us. We ended up with over 400 species in the two weeks, plus many furry creatures as well (including all the big 5 several times).
Jeremy Exelby was well-beyond excellent, extremely knowledgeable and did a terrific job of seeing to everyone's individual needs.
