Our Sri Lanka birding and wildlife tour takes us to without doubt one of the world's most pleasurable birdwatching and game viewing destinations. From the central highlands to the rich lowland rainforests, Sri Lanka is one of only a handful of magical destinations where it is possible to see every single country endemic in a well-planned trip such as this, making this extension a ‘must’ for the keen birder!

What our clients say about us

Stephan Lorenz
MF, Sri Lanka 2019

The Sri Lanka Exclusive Tour was awesome. Stephan Lorenz was knowledgeable and worked very hard to get all tour members on the birds. I can highly recommend this particular tour and guide for a super life birding experience.

Daniel Danckwerts
JH, Sri Lanka 2019

This was a really successful tour, IMO. We got all the targets with time to spare and weren't totally spent by the end of it. Well done. All of the guides - David & Daniel were top notch. I'd bird with any of them again in a heartbeat.

xPeter Kaestner
EP, Sri Lanka 2020

"Both Peter K and local leader were great. Our local leader went so out of his way to find and stake out owls, he'd start roaming the forest at 2 and have reports for us at dawn when we would meet in field. We had all 9 available owls due to his work. He also knew each area so well we found all endemics as he had such intimate knowledge of location and back up sites for each key species. Amazing, he sure pulled some birds out of almost thin air. Sri Lanka Frogmouth, Sri Lanka Bay and Serendip Owls, etc. Also amazing with his knowledge of calls - my guess is Rockjumper has the country's best local guide - keep him happy! The bus was great, more room than we needed but that sure beats the alternative - made the long drives so comfy. Also had WIFI which added a real time killer to travel."

Stuart Elsom
TM - Sri Lanka 2023

This was a fantastic tour and I attribute its success to the guides, Greg de Klerk and Stu Elsom. They are professional and skilled, both at finding birds and handling people, and I learned a lot from them. We saw all of the endemic bird species and had some great views of game, including a jungle cat. At the beginning of the tour, I thought that a group size of 12 was going to be too many, but I had better experiences seeing birds than I have on tours with half as many participants.

Quinton Paul Josop
GM, Sri Lanka - Endemic Birds & Big Game (Small Group) 2026

The birding tour in Sri Lanka was exceptional, coming after a wonderful tour in Western Ghats in India. The tour participants in Sri Lanka, and the people of Sri Lanka, the beauty of the country, and the people's concern for the land and its wildlife were all highlights of the trip. Paul Joseph continued his superb tour-leading from India to Sri Lanka. His bird finding, identification skills and handling of the many facets of tour leader, such as working well with local guides and others who assist with the tour, such as drivers, other local birders, etc. and doing these alongside his caring and pleasant personality. The Sri Lankan guides and all others who assisted were a real joy. I felt lucky to have participated with all the other tour participants on the India and Sri Lanka tours. A heartfelt thanks all. Lastly, the the staff, the whole team at Rockjumper, were exemplary, as they always are. Thanks for all the assistance you provided to me.
