Melanesia is a subregion of Oceania and extends from the western end of the Pacific Ocean to the Arafura Sea, and eastward to Fiji. The region comprises most of the islands immediately north and northeast of Australia, including those of the Bismarck Archipelago, Bougainville, the Solomons, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia. Of particular interest to birders is the impressive range of endemic bird species and subspecies specific to these islands, with 40% (around 200 species) of the area’s birds occurring nowhere else on Earth.

We offer two exciting birding and diving cruises to this endemic-rich tropical paradise, affording the intrepid birder and nature enthusiast the awesome opportunity to explore some of the world’s most pristine and least-visited islands and coral reefs, replete with an array of brilliant birds and astounding marine life, numerous historical and cultural attractions, splendid island scenery, and super friendly traditional people!
