Poland is one of Europe's best kept birding secrets. Very safe, with a growing local birding community - Poland has a number of interesting habitats set amongst a low-intensity countryside teeming with birds. Home to Europe's last unmanaged deciduous woods, we spend our time searching for a number of 'eastern' specialties that rarely, if ever, venture into the western regions of Europe. Typical targets include Great Snipe, Aquatic, River and Savi’s Warbler, Corn Crake, Eurasian Bittern, White-backed, Three-toed, Black, Middle Spotted and Grey-headed Woodpeckers and Lesser Grey Shrike are some of the species that come to mind. Other more widespread, but no less spectacular birds include Common Crane, Little Eurasian Bittern, Bearded Reedling and the beautiful Bluethroat.
