We will also enjoy quality birding at the exclusive Imbabala Lodge on the Zambezi floodplain. Avian targets on this brief yet thoroughly recommended adventure include Slaty Egret, Rufous-bellied Heron, the huge Coppery-tailed Coucal, Rock Pratincole, Schalow’s Turaco, Bradfield’s Hornbill and the rare Shelley’s Sunbird.
Our short extension to the Eastern Highlands takes in the best of Zimbabwe’s montane species including the near endemic Chirinda Apalis, Roberts’s Warbler, the delightful Swynnerton’s Robin, Bronzy Sunbird, Black-fronted Bushshrike, African Spotted Creeper, Red-faced Crombec, White-breasted Cuckooshrike, Green-capped Eremomela and Cinnamon-breasted Tit.
