Our tours to Peninsular Malaysia and the province of Sabah on Borneo have long been some of our most popular in all of Asia. The region is well developed and offers a splendid array of wildlife, quality birding, excellent facilities and first-class infrastructure. The birding and wildlife sites are also well established and offer excellent protection to a vast array of sought-after species including Bornean Orangutan, Great Argus, Proboscis Monkey, Rhinoceros Hornbill, Bornean Pygmy Elephant and a range of spectacular endemic birds.
On this adventure we have selected the very best birding and wildlife sites but have slowed things down and made it a more relaxed experience. We immerse ourselves in the wildlife zones and with nature all around us we will enjoy the sheer variety on offer. We will visit some of Asia’s most famous birding locations including Fraser’s Hill, Taman Negara National Park, the Danum Valley - protecting the largest rainforest in Southeast Asia, the Kinabatangan River, the Crocker Range, Sepilok and the fabled Mount Kinabalu. During our time in country, we will explore lowland and montane rainforests, mangrove swamps and wetlands that host a rich mix of stunning south-east Asian birds. While the tour is Relaxed in nature we will still be birding in the very best habitats, and we will no doubt get to enjoy several rare species and a phenomenal variety of Bornean endemics. The whole region, but particularly Borneo, is fantastic for rainforest mammals and we can expect some incredible creatures, including Bornean Orangutan, several species of Gibbon, Colugo (Sunda Flying Lemur), Mouse-Deers, nocturnal flying squirrels, palm civets, and if we are lucky, Bornean Pygmy Elephant or Leopard Cat! Join us for what is sure to be an awesome, exotic blend of fabulous birds, mammals and amazing scenery!

MODERATE TO CHALLENGING: This tour requires a good level of fitness, stamina, and overall health. It’s best suited for experienced birders who are comfortable with a more active itinerary. Please note that it may not be ideal for avid photographers, new birders, or those with mobility or health concerns.
Moderate. Not suitable for anyone with mobility or health challenges. Our Relaxed series of tours are designed to focus on having an enjoyable holiday with a bird and wildlife focus. Where possible; we have reduced or removed long drives, single night stays and poor/rustic accommodation. We have also sought to reduce or remove difficult hikes, narrow/muddy trails and otherwise oppressive environmental conditions. Early starts and night birding are mostly optional, and we will not spend much time searching for difficult and/or skulking species. These tours are not suitable for hardcore birders and listers, or dedicated photographers.
Comfortable to very comfortable.
Bird density alternates from low to high at various sites. While there are numerous possible skulkers on this tour, we will spend most of our time enjoying the vast array of beautiful & interesting sp

Thank you for your patience, professionalism and for sharing your amazing talents with us.
Many thanks for your patience and kindness in helping me see and hear such fabulous birds. Loved sharing the pheasants and partridges with you. The "WOW" moments!
Our local leader and Adam Walleyn made a great team; we appreciated Adam’s great skill at spotting and identifying the mammals and herptofauna, which is an important part of any birding trip for us.
Glen did a fantastic job on this tour. Birding in the lowland rainforest looking for Pittas was certainly a challenge! Glen was informative, patient and persistent, and did his best in making sure that the entire group saw these fascinating birds. The itinerary was comprehensive, the accommodations were great and the food was excellent. Overall, a wonderful trip.
We felt that the trip was very well organised and efficient so we could spend as much time in the field as possible. Glen was a terrific guide - excellent birder as well as his concern that everyone was seeing the birds. Glen was very even in his manner at all times and with everyone.
