This relaxed-paced tour explores the famous and quintessential birding and wildlife reserves of northern Tanzania, Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. The tour will focus on several common Tanzanian endemics and regional specials whilst having ample time to marvel at some of the highest concentrations of wildlife to be found anywhere on our planet, and all this amidst spectacular scenery in one of Africa's wildest, most stable, and least spoilt destinations.
Some of the many regional specials and endemic birds that we will be seeking including the beautiful Fischer’s and Yellow-collared Lovebirds, Ashy Starling, Grey-breasted Spurfowl and Rufous-tailed Weaver. Our tour uses a good standard of accommodation and comfortable safari vehicles with pop-up roof hatches to optimize viewing. This incredible and immensely rewarding birding safari is augmented by some of the most outstanding mammal viewing the world has to offer!

UNDEMANDING: This tour is ideal for birders and wildlife enthusiasts of all experience levels. It’s suitable for most mobility levels and offers a relaxed pace, ensuring an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Our Relaxed series of tours are designed to focus on having an enjoyable holiday with a bird and wildlife focus. Where possible; we have reduced or removed long drives, single night stays and poor/rustic accommodation. We have also sought to reduce or remove difficult hikes, narrow/muddy trails and otherwise oppressive environmental conditions. Early starts and night birding are mostly optional, and we will not spend much time searching for difficult and/or skulking species. These tours are not suitable for hardcore birders and listers, or dedicated photographers.

Andre was a GREAT bird guide. VERY good at searching out the birds and getting everyone on them. Highly recommended!
Paul Varney was a superb guide. He worked hard throughout the tour, ensured everyone got what they wanted from the trip and had incredible patience always answering (even often repeated) questions and had excellent knowledge of the birds and game. What really impressed was he was always open and willing to say he didn’t know or wasn’t sure, knew when to let an ID go and would make effort to work out a tricky ID from images overnight and confirm later. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and he made it a great experience. Moses our driver was fantastic. He has great knowledge of the areas visited, is an excellent, careful and confident driver and has incredible eyes. He is also a genuinely caring and lovely man who helped make the time in the vehicle a lot of fun. Your ground agents are brilliant. I guess you know that, but they made everything work very smoothly and helped with organising transfers.

I would travel with him as a guide any time! The selection of sites to visit was perfect - a nice variety of habitats and wildlife. I very much enjoyed the visit to the Olduvai Gorge. At Tarangiri we took an optional night game drive, which was fantastic - there we saw an aardvark, a really rare sighting. I would definitely recommend that this be added to the itinerary. The lodgings were fine - all were clean and well- appointed. The meals on offer were somewhat disappointing, though, as nearly all of them served the same types of food - creamed soups, stews, potatoes & rice. The packed lunches were very good, though. All in all this was an absolutely wonderful trip!

Paul and Rodger (local driver/guide) were first class. Helpful, energetic, patient, suitably enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The accommodations and meals were spot-on.
